What you’ll do:

  • Work within our R&D team to design new equipment used to manufacture products used in the production of pharmaceuticals.
  • Oversee machine development and handover including process development and operational qualification. Prepare protocols and reports according to internal requirements. Able to manage multiple projects in parallel.
  • Prepare machine concept layouts and detailing, selection and management of suppliers, raising Cap-Ex requests, tracking build progress against plan and facilitating problem solving when challenges arise.
  • Support the R&D team as needed with training, equipment repairs, and hands-on work to build small items of equipment on site.
  • This role requires up to 50% travel, mostly within the UK.

Who you are:

  • BSc or BEng in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, or a HND/HNC/apprenticeship combined with significant direct work experience
  • A subject matter expert in machine design and construction with a minimum of 10 years’ work experience
  • Experienced in project management of machine development including working closely with external vendors
  • Proficient in 3D CAD design
  • Able to manage own daily workload and accomplishing tasks with minimal supervision

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Qualification in industrial electrical engineering or electrical safety
  • Certification in Machinery Directive or UK Machinery Regulations
