We are now searching for an experienced Senior Quality Manager to join our team. The Senior Quality Manager will ensure effective quality management systems are in place and 100% aligned with key strategic goals, whilst minimising business risk and enhancing customer satisfaction. This position will also support the Assurance and the lab functions.

Reporting to our Head of Quality and managing 3 direct reports, you will collaborate closely with various internal teams to drive compliance, continuous improvement, and the highest industry standards. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader, capable of motivating and mentoring their team, while effectively influencing cross-functional stakeholders to embrace a culture of quality. They will combine strategic thinking and strong problem-solving skills to anticipate risks and implement robust solutions.

This role is a 12 month fixed term contract and will be based in our Innovation Centre in Aston Clinton, Aylesbury (HP22 5WJ) 3 days per week, with 2 days working from home.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Quality Leadership: Develop and execute a strategic quality vision aligned with business goals, setting quality standards and metrics to measure performance across departments.
  • Quality Management System (QMS) Oversight: Manage and maintain the company's QMS, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance & Control: Implement and monitor quality control processes across the product lifecycle, including inspections, testing, and data analysis to identify and address quality issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities, utilising methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma to optimise processes and reduce defects.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyse quality data to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement, generating comprehensive reports for management decision-making.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of Quality professionals, assigning tasks, providing training, and fostering a culture of quality excellence.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, sales, and customer service to ensure quality is integrated throughout the product development and delivery process.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant industry regulations and ensure compliance with quality standards, including audits and inspections.

Requirements:

  • Substantial experience in a quality management role, with proven track record in leading quality initiatives.
  • Extensive knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies (e.g., ISO standards, Lean, Six Sigma), and quality control techniques.
  • Strong analytical abilities to interpret data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights to inform decision-making.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and motivating a team, unifying cross-functional teams, and driving results.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of quality issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field would be beneficial.
