Role: Senior Project Manager
Salary: £65,000 to £85,000 & range of benefits

About The Role
As part of our team, you’ll be responsible for managing and delivering a programme of construction projects within Gas Transmission. You’ll ensure each project is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead and manage your team on portfolio of projects from start to finish—planning, development, delivery, and closure.
- Ensure compliance with National Gas standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Champion safety, health, and environmental excellence across all activities.
- Deliver results that meet performance targets for cost, time, quality, and environmental impact.
- Work collaboratively with delivery teams to ensure smooth execution and continuous improvement.
- Encourage innovation by challenging project teams to deliver efficient, fit-for-purpose solutions and avoid scope creep.
- Report on progress with clear, accurate updates on safety, milestones, risks, and financial performance—helping track delivery against long-term plans.
- Support cost management by helping build and maintain our unit cost library and ensuring accurate cost data is collected.

Key Requirements & Experience
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on building a positive safety culture.
- Experience delivering complex infrastructure projects safely, on time, and within budget.
- Skilled in project governance, planning, budgeting, and risk management.
- Ability to challenge and improve project scope, design, and delivery for efficiency and value.
- Confident in reporting on project progress, safety, and financial performance.
- Commercial awareness and experience managing contractual and cost-related aspects of projects.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g. RIIO) and community engagement for major schemes.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all levels.
- Proven ability to prioritise, schedule, and monitor multiple projects effectively.
- Hands-on experience as a Project Manager in large-scale or complex projects.
- Experience of managing financial controls and financial processes for projects
- Experience of managing project budgets, forecasts and estimating of costs
- Experience of value engineering project forecasts to identify opportunities
- Educated to degree level or equivalent and Chartered status or similar in the field of engineering or contract/project management, or relevant experience
- Ideally supported by recognised training or qualifications in Health, Safety, Environmental and Financial management (including IOSH Managing Safety or NEBOSH Certificate for Capital Delivery SHEQ Co-ordinator)
- Valid current UK Driving Licence
