Position:
As Senior Project Manager you will work as a member of the Networks & Engineering team under the day-to-day guidance of the Head of Projects. The primary functions of this role are Client Relationship Management, Supervisory Responsibilities, and Project Planning, Execution & Closure.
This is a Hybrid/Remote role; your days will be at client sites, working from home and office-based when required). You will be open to a flexible approach to working hours as this involves some out of hours working.

Supervisory
- Escalation for Project Managers – assist, support, guide, mentor and coach Project Managers.
- Support and advise to save struggling projects within the department
- Champion learning, process improvements and best practise project management within the company
- Assist Line Manager with recruitment process of new project managers as required.
- Matrix management across client, Engineering, logistics and subcontractors, provide guidance & support to Project Managers.
- Monitor and report on compliance to processes and manage corrective actions where needed.
- Attend site Survey’s and client meetings
- Identify project stakeholders
- Determine stakeholder’s needs and expectations
- Prioritise demands
- Establish clear set project goals
- Sequence activities to meet delivery dates
- Produce detailed project schedule
- Determine type, quality and quantity of resource required
- Prepare Risk and Method Statements (RAMS)
- Generate Construction Phase Plans
- Allocate resources and establish resource schedule
- Determine budget and create financial plan
- Define quality expectations and targets
- Identify techniques for quality control and develop quality plan
- Map risks, identify contingency actions and develop risk plan
- Develop communication strategy with stakeholders and develop communication plan
- Identify external supplies required and develop procurement plan
- Assemble project team
- Create contingency plans should projects slip out of agreed timescales and budget.
- Implement project plans to build deliverables
- Manage timelines
- Manage costs
- Identify and manage risk
- Assure and control quality
- Suggest and implement modifications to project scope, deliverables, and resources
- Track and monitor procurements
- Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders
- Support and direct project teams
- Meet with Clients as required
- Ensure project completion criteria have been met
- Obtain stakeholder approval for final deliverables
- Present final project report including financial and budget reporting
- Handover project documentation
- Release project resources
- Conduct project review
- Evaluate performance against defined objectives
- Commercially astute, with sound knowledge and experience of negotiating, administering, and extensive experience of managing large, complex, projects and programmes across various sectors.
- Experience of the governance, reporting, and management requirements for project and/or programmes of work in a regulated environment.
- Experience in the delivery of disaggregated projects managing complex interfaces.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels demonstrated by the ability to build excellent working relationships.
- Experience in defining scope, business objectives, requirements and deliverables that stakeholders expect.
- Must have managerial experience, able to lead and direct a multi-disciplinary team.
- Must be H&S focussed, good attention to detail and have a low or zero tolerance for non-compliance or taking chances.
- Microsoft - Outlook/Word/Excel/Explorer
- Planning tools, including Microsoft project
- Visits to vendor or client sites will be required, out of hours working and travel required from time to time.
- To attend client, project implementation and review meetings both in person and via MS Teams as required.
- Degree level or equivalent in a technical discipline, MSP, PRINCE2 / APM / PMP qualified. SMSTS qualified.
