Are you an experienced project manager looking for a new challenge? Suffolk County Council is seeking a Senior Project Manager for HR Digital Transformation. This is a fixed-term, one-year role based in Ipswich, offering a competitive salary of £45,380 - £55,634 per annum (pro rata if part-time).

The Role

As the Senior Project Manager, you'll be at the forefront of our HR Digital Transformation.Working within the HR service, the main purpose of this role is to create a robust, end-to-end process in Oracle Fusion that ensures accurate establishment data, validates staffing budget allocations, and improves management and forecasting of staff costs. You'll oversee a full data cleanse of existing establishment data, implement comprehensive reporting tools, and collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and IT departments.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage all aspects of the project, including technical deliverables.
  • Direct and manage project resources, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
  • Identify and manage project risks, developing suitable contingency plans.
  • Prepare and present cost-benefit analyses to support business case development.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to deliver the project.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of agreed benefits realisation.
  • Design, test, and implement reports for visibility and decision-making.


What we're looking for:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of project management methodologies.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale IT projects.
  • Ability to elicit customer requirements and design effective solutions.
  • Strong risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion is a plus.
  • PRINCE II/Agile Coaching/Scrum Master certifications are advantageous.
