We are seeking a Senior Principal Urban Drainage Modeller to join our team in Birmingham . This is a strategically important leadership role that will be vital to the management and growth of our modelling team in the region. The role will offer the opportunity to get involved with our important portfolios with the likes of Severn Trent and Welsh Water , key clients for our business. You will be at the forefront of tackling some of the most pressing challenges in urban drainage, from reducing storm overflows to enhancing environmental resilience.

Responsibilities

As a senior leader, you will be responsible for leading people and managing complex programmes of modelling work. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Leading and mentoring our talented team of modellers.
  • Managing key client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Driving the strategic growth of the Birmingham Urban Drainage Modelling team.
  • Delivering a wide range of technical work, including model build & verification, solution development, and outline design.

This is a chance to not only lead people and projects but also to play an important role in the leadership of the urban drainage modelling discipline within Stantec.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be a highly experienced professional with a proven track record of technical and leadership excellence. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Extensive experience in urban drainage modelling.
  • Expert-level proficiency with InfoWorks ICM.
  • Strong people management skills and the ability to inspire a team.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing abilities, with experience working directly with clients like Welsh Water.
  • A passion for technical quality and a strategic mindset for business growth.
