Senior Pitch Manager

Squire Patton Boggs

Date: 4 hours ago
City: Birmingham
Contract type: Full time
Description

We're seeking a dynamic and creative, experienced Senior Pitch Manager to join our global pitch team - ideally someone who is able to 'hit the ground running'. The role will lead responses to global multi-practice and multi-jurisdictional proposals. Whilst this opportunity is based in the UK, you'll collaborate closely with other members of the global pitch team, reporting to the Global Head of Bids.

Our Firm

Squire Patton Boggs is one of the world's strongest integrated law firms, committed to providing insight at the point where law, business and government meet. We deliver commercially focused business solutions by combining our legal, lobbying and political capabilities and invaluable connections on the ground to a diverse mix of clients, from long-established leading corporations to emerging businesses, start-up visionaries and sovereign nations.

More than 1,500 lawyers in 45 offices across 20 countries on five continents provide unrivalled access to expertise. In the UK, we have offices in Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and London.

The firm is committed to promoting a collaborative and supportive working environment. Embedded by local champions in each of our UK offices, our well-regarded family and carer, wellbeing and workplace culture and development programmes provide a variety of flexible working options to support individuals' life journeys, helping our people pursue their personal and professional goals.

Our Team

Our global Business Development and Marketing team work together to provide frontline BD support and advice at a practice, industry and office level - much of the work being collaborative and international in nature.

Our Opportunity

You will be responsible for leading some of the most significant and important multi-practice pitches and Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, with particular focus on supporting UK and EMEA opportunities. From day one, you will help shape pitch strategy, utilising and helping develop best practice techniques, to assist the firm's business development, retention and expansion efforts.

You will principally work on client and target opportunities that are highly detailed, drafting substantial parts of the bids with input into all stages from 'GoNoGo' appraisals, scoping, drafting to presentation preparation and debriefs.

This role will also include line management responsibilities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual looking for a career with a global reach. You'll have the chance to build long lasting relationships with colleagues across the globe. This is a challenging role and you will need to work to tight deadlines, be flexible and have excellent writing and presentation skills, with a keen attention to detail. In return you will have the opportunity to take ownership of a number of projects where your specialist input will result in the future growth and success of the firm's client base.

You

To be successful in the role you will have at least 8 years existing bid/pitch experience, preferably within legal services or other professional services organisations. You'll have knowledge and experience in bid management, bid documentation production and best practice (pitch coaching and training experience would be desirable). You will possess strong project management skills, adapting your work style while working on a number of time sensitive projects.

You'll achieve your goals by exhibiting a confident and professional approach, utilising your excellent communication skills to work with a wide range of stakeholders. You will also have previous line management experience in a bids team.
