Job Description

Your job

  • You will be responsible for developing the mechanical design of products and sub-assemblies from initial concept through to high volume manufacture and will be expected to make complex design decisions along the way.

This will encompass: -

  • Development and delivery of the mechanical design in line with project requirements.
  • Creating 3D CAD data and 2D Drawings for manufacture.
  • Ensuring product quality using best practice techniques e.g. DFMEA, DfM, GD&T.
  • Preparation of Verification and Validation test plans.
  • Managing timescales and cost in line with the Project plan.
  • Working closely with the Project Manager, Hardware design and Test teams.

To be ready to take on this role we would love if you have: -

  • Minimum BSc/BEng in Mechanical Design Engineering.
  • Experienced with Solidworks.
  • Experienced with the following manufacturing techniques; Casting, Injection Moulding, Machining.
  • Knowledge of Design for Quality techniques and tools.
  • Experience in ‘Design for Manufacture’ in a high-volume industry.
  • Experience in design and testing for harsh environments, including sealing, corrosion resistance and vibration.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Willing to work with the team in the office 4 days a week.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
