Job Description
Your job
- You will be responsible for developing the mechanical design of products and sub-assemblies from initial concept through to high volume manufacture and will be expected to make complex design decisions along the way.
- Development and delivery of the mechanical design in line with project requirements.
- Creating 3D CAD data and 2D Drawings for manufacture.
- Ensuring product quality using best practice techniques e.g. DFMEA, DfM, GD&T.
- Preparation of Verification and Validation test plans.
- Managing timescales and cost in line with the Project plan.
- Working closely with the Project Manager, Hardware design and Test teams.
- Minimum BSc/BEng in Mechanical Design Engineering.
- Experienced with Solidworks.
- Experienced with the following manufacturing techniques; Casting, Injection Moulding, Machining.
- Knowledge of Design for Quality techniques and tools.
- Experience in ‘Design for Manufacture’ in a high-volume industry.
- Experience in design and testing for harsh environments, including sealing, corrosion resistance and vibration.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Willing to work with the team in the office 4 days a week.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
