Job Title: Senior Java Software Engineer

Job Location / Working Arrangement: Remote (London / Bristol) - 1day a month meeting in London or Bristol (alternates)

Salary and Remuneration: £70-100K

Job Type: Permanent

Position Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to develop and deliver production-ready solutions for complex business problems.
• Design and implement new product functionalities, leveraging existing services.
• Extend and refactor existing functionality using AWS cloud services.
• Mentor junior developers and provide guidance on best practices.
• Stay updated on industry standards and promote best practices in software development and design.
• Manage your own time effectively, working independently and as part of an agile team.
• Own all aspects of product design, including architecture, performance, scalability, security, coding standards, and testability.
• Identify and automate improvements in production processes.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience with Java and Spring Framework.
• Expertise in relational, NoSQL, and/or graph databases.
• Proficient in refactoring using AWS Cloud Services (Cognito, Lambda, Aurora, etc.).
• Experience in virtualized environments (Docker, VMware).
• Ability to design and implement functionality with a focus on performance.
• Familiarity with scripting languages like Python is a plus.
• Experience in managing and processing data at scale.
• A mathematical background or familiarity with data science techniques is advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience with SaaS architectures, constraints, and design considerations.
• Proven ability to collaborate with Product Management to refine requirements.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Relevant experience in software development, particularly in a SaaS environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
