Date: 4 days ago
City: Chipping Sodbury
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per year
Contract type: Full time

We’re looking for an ambitious and inquisitive senior internal auditor to join our expanding team and make a real impact. Reporting to the internal audit manager, this is an exciting opportunity to work in a forward thinking team in a newly merged, ambitious organisation absolutely driven by purpose. You’ll play a vital role in delivering our internal audit programme and supporting colleagues in strengthening risk management and internal control frameworks across the organisation.

In this role, you’ll work closely with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. Your ability to build strong relationships will be key, especially when engaging with senior leaders to identify and assess risks to add significant value. As a trusted advisor, you’ll help embed a deeper understanding of risk management and assurance, developing strong partnerships with leadership teams across the business.

You’ll lead end-to-end internal audits, from planning through to closing meetings, confidently presenting your findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders and governance forums. With excellent project management skills and a meticulous approach to your work, you’ll be comfortable managing a varied and sometimes complex workload, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery. Your insight and experience will also contribute to the continuous improvement of our internal audit processes and planning.

This role is permanent and full time. You can be based from any of our main offices in Chipping Sodbury, Tewkesbury, Wolverhampton or Norwich with regular home working available. Some occasional travel across our geography is required.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Proven experience in independently delivering high-quality internal audits
  • Recent experience in housing or another regulated sector (desirable)
  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA)
  • A naturally curious mindset with a sharp eye for detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence to challenge, influence, and negotiate at all levels
  • A full UK driving licence

The closing date is 16 June with first stage interviews taking place 24 June.

If you’re looking for a rewarding opportunity where you can grow your skills, broaden your experience, and make a difference from day one, we’d love to hear from you.
