Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a full-time, on-site position based near Chippenham.
Your future duties and responsibilities
In this role, you will ensure the resilience, reliability, and performance of complex infrastructure environments that underpin critical defence operations. You'll provide hands-on technical support, proactive maintenance, and innovative solutions across a broad range of technologies, contributing directly to system integrity and mission success. Working closely with senior engineers, you'll play a key role in enhancing infrastructure capabilities, developing your expertise, and helping CGI deliver excellence in every engagement.

Key Responsibilities Include
- Support & Maintain: Deliver technical support for VMware, Tanzu, Dell VxRail, and Dell Data Domain platforms.
- Troubleshoot & Secure: Diagnose issues across key management and access systems such as HashiCorp Vault, Thales HSM, and BeyondTrust.
- Administer & Optimise: Manage Windows Server 2022, Hyper-V environments, and system performance monitoring.
- Collaborate & Document: Work with cross-functional teams to enhance infrastructure and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Respond & Resolve: Participate in an on-call rota to ensure business-critical systems remain operational 24/7.

You Should Have
- Proven experience in infrastructure or support engineering.
- Experience working in Defence or other secure, regulated environments.
- Familiarity with VMware, Microsoft, or Security technologies (certifications desirable).
- Knowledge of Hyper-converged Infrastructure and network principles.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of cross-domain technologies (e.g., Tiger Traps, Garrison, OpsWat, NiFi).
- Exposure to DevOps tools such as GitLab, Harbor, FluxCD, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Elastic for monitoring and analytics.
