Senior Growth and Engagement Manager (Secure Data Environment)

Health Innovation East

Date: 1 hour ago
City: Cambridge
Contract type: Full time

Health Innovation East has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Growth and Engagement Manager to join our rapidly expanding Health Informatics team.

Salary: £49,899 – £70,547 (dependant on experience)

Hours of work: 37.5hrs/week (or 0.8FTE if preferred)

Deadline: 11.59pm 23 October 2025

Date of interview: two stage process – 29 October 2025 and 10 November 2025

The Health Informatics team has specialist skills in delivering complex, technical programmes of work that include providing secure environments for storing and accessing health and other sensitive data to support health and care delivery, research, and innovation.

The Senior Growth and Engagement Manager will take a leading role in representing the East of England Secure Data Environment (SDE). The SDE is a highly secure platform that provides safe access to de-identified NHS patient data for approved research, enabling analysis of linked clinical datasets without the data ever leaving the environment. It forms part of a national network designed to unlock the potential of health data while maintaining the highest standards of security, ethics, and public trust.

In this role, you will be the first face of the SDE, welcoming new collaborators, inspiring confidence, and ensuring research teams and applicants feel supported from their first interaction. You will combine strategic business development with hands-on customer engagement, raising awareness of the SDE, generating new enquiries, and building strong relationships across NHS organisations, academia, and industry.

We are seeking someone who thrives at the intersection of growth, relationship building, and service delivery. You will help shape how health data is accessed and used for research, making a real impact on health outcomes across the East of England and beyond.

Flexible working hours compatible with the role can be considered (including the possibility of working part time). The role is offered as a 12-month fixed term contract in the first instance. It is a hybrid role with 2–3 days per month required in our Cambridge office (although you can choose to work in the office more frequently if preferred). The role also includes occasional travel across the region for meetings, as well as participation in national events on an ad hoc basis.
