Senior Firmware Engineer - Embedded SW
The Onset
Date: 1 week ago
City: Cambridge
Contract type: Full time
Job Description
Senior Firmware Engineer
Sydney, Australia (we'll provide relocation support and visa sponsorship)
up to $145,000 + superannuation + shares
Thinking about change? How about a change of country?
In the last year, Sydney has had 2800 hours of sun. London? Only 1300. Rainy days? We had 70 in Sydney. By contrast, you needed your brolly in London for 152 days of the year.
Depressed yet? Let’s change that.
When you’re not basking in the sun, enjoying the warmer 28 degree temps, you could be doing something interesting at work.
You could help bring novel wireless, fabless, Wi-Fi technology to market with the team that invented Wi-Fi over 20 years ago.
You’ll go on a journey, diving deeper into RTOS than ever before alongside a team of experienced engineers. Unlocking new lessons in power management and performance optimisation.
Alongside Analog, Systems and Digital IC Design Engineers you’ll develop an in-depth understanding of multi-core SoC’s, WiFi standards, it’s 11ah variant, IoT applications and networking stacks in a newly created role.
You'll get a competitive salary, stock options, work from brand new offices (30 minutes from the beach) with unrivaled city views, coffee expenses covered and regular team events like karaoke nights, running clubs and tape-out parties to get to know your new colleagues at.
The work you’ll be doing
You’ll join a firmware team implementing the IEEE 802.11ah standard on state-of-the-art RISC-V multi-core chip architecture.
You’ll be doing it in a low-regulation, high-potential market as part of a business that’s founded and run by engineers who understand what you need to do your job properly.
There’s a healthy R&D budget, the overall team is still less than 200 people so everyone knows your name and there’s still a real buzz around the office.
What You’ll Need
We’ll take care of your relocation costs and visa sponsorship.
To find out more and for an informal chat, get in touch with me; Julien Bicknell, at The Onset. You can email [email protected] or call/WhatsApp/Signal +61 406 158 832.
Don't worry about updating your CV, we can think about that later.
