Senior Finance Analyst - Direct

Our Role

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this role will be working closely with the Multichannel, Creative and International teams to drive insight and business growth.

This person will be a business partner for the Multichannel Director and provide insight into Direct (digital) performance helping to drive both sales and profitability through the development and production of weekly/monthly reports. This will involve working with the Marketing team to understand the success of marketing expenditure (both online and offline) and a good understanding of the return on investment of new customer acquisition and the retention of existing customers.

As well as giving insight into the performance this person will support the sales and gross margin budgeting and forecasting process both from a Channel and Customer perspective working with both the Direct team and Marketing team to produce the future business plans.

This person will also business partner with key members of the Creative and International teams to drive continuous improvement and future growth opportunities.

What you’ll be doing

• Providing insight with the purpose of improving the profitability of the Direct (digital) channel
• Interpreting the return on investment for marketing expenditure both online and offline helping to inform future decision making
• Responsible for budgeting and forecasting the sales and gross profit of the Digital channel ensuring both top line assumptions and phasing are robust.
• Support the production of the daily and weekly reports and help validate the integrity and accuracy of data being reported for Direct and other Marketing channels.
• Broader responsibility for all reporting & analysis of Direct, Creative, International and Marketing performance on a monthly & adhoc basis focusing on the key events & drivers
• Gain an understanding and assist the Marketing team in building a budget from a customer perspective using acquisition and retention plans
• Provided adhoc analysis as required
  
  

The Skills & Experience That You’ll Need

• Part Qualified Accountant
• Prior experience in a business partnering and/or commercial finance role, preferably for a retail, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) or similar environment
• Experience in an online retail environment would be desirable
• Excellent excel skills
• Strong interest in building an understanding of the key drivers of the business
• Able to work in partnership with the business to drive operational improvements
• The ability to be able to communicate effectively across Finance & Non Finance stakeholders, as well as senior management
• Highly adaptable and able to comfortably work to tight deadlines and/or varying business priorities
• Take full ownership and accountability over designated areas of responsibilities
