Reporting to the Electrical & Electronics Engineering Manager, the Senior Electronics Engineer is responsible for design and development of electronic systems for Continuous Ink Jet printers and will be located in our Huntingdon office, (office and lab-based work).

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Creating schematic and PCB designs comprising of microprocessor, microcontrollers, CPLD, FPGA and interfaces to digital and analogue sensors including transducers
  • Design and implementation of test rigs and software, for design verification and functional test
  • Programmable logic design and the writing of test benches for individual modules up to complete systems
  • Writing of requirement and functional specifications.
  • Design for volume production of products that are safe, reliable, and meet required industry standards
  • Cross-functional working with the Mechanical, Software and Test/Verification R&D teams.


The requirements of the job include:

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Significant digital electronic design experience: microcontroller, microprocessor, CPLD and FPGA
  • Analogue electronic design experience: Discrete and interfacing to sensors and transducers
  • Programmable logic design experience is desirable: VHDL for FPGAs
  • Design verification and functional test software is desirable: C/C++ or Python, on Arduino or RaspberryPi.
