We’re looking for a Data Engineer who expects more from their career. It’s a chance to extend and improve dunnhumby’s Software Engineering department. It’s an opportunity to work with a market-leading business to explore new opportunities for us and influence global retailers.

Joining our team, you’ll work with world class and passionate people to deliver on the development and deployment of new technology products and/or platforms that drive excellent solutions for our clients.

What You’ll Be Working On

  • Deliver on development and deployment of applications, components, software, platforms or services of varying levels of complexity
  • Developing robust and well-tested ETL pipelines
  • Deep understanding of data design principles in all stages of the software development process
  • Work as part of a team on bigger projects, ensuring service level agreements are met at all times
  • Provide advice and guidance to more junior colleagues as required to resolve specific challenges.
  • Monitor and escalate operational metrics, identify and recommend opportunities to improve
  • Maintain all required skills & complete necessary training and act in line with our values and Code of Business

What We Expect From You

  • Programming skills – Python, Scala or SQL
  • Databases – MSSSQL, MySQL, PostreSQL
  • Orchestration – Apache Airflow
  • Big Data – Apache Spark, Pandas, Apache Zeppelin
  • CI/CD – Octopus, Jenkins, TeamCity
