Role Overview

As a rapidly expanding and progressive business, we are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated CAD Technician to join our existing team. The Senior CAD Technician is responsible for producing, reviewing, and managing a minimum of 10+ high-quality drawings of temporary traffic management schemes. This role ensures all drawings meet company standards, client requirements, and relevant legislation (including Chapter 8, TSRGD, and local authority guidance). The Senior CAD Technician also supports other team members through training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production of a minimum 10+ CAD drawings a day at chapter 8 standard in line with department KPIs.
  • Manage drawing allocation on a daily basis, including resolving queries and invoicing all chargeable drawings completed, when necessary, in line with department KPIs.
  • Communicate with the Technical Manager regularly, keeping them up to date with workload and daily allocation.
  • Lead on large scale projects, with regular communication to the Technical Manager and ensure all drawings are completed within the timescale.
  • Basic computing skills and experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Customer service skills and liaising with internal and external parties through phone and email.
  • Ensure you maintain an excellent level of customer service with the clients by communicating regularly and conducting customer visits and meetings, if required.
  • Responsible for assisting training for new starters.
  • Deal with drawing queries and escalate if necessary.
  • Provide cover for the Technical Manager.

Skills Required

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • IT skills, Microsoft packages.
  • Ability to solve problems proactively.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well as an individual and in a team.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Self-motivated with a “can-do” attitude.

Desirable Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within the Traffic Management industry.
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience with CAD background.
  • Experience with CONE software (preferable).

Hours of Work: Full time, Monday to Friday 08:30-17:00 with 30mins for lunch (40hrs per week).

Salary: £29,000 to £31,000 per annum (dependant on experience and will be discussed at interview stage).

The successful candidate would be subject to a 3 month probationary period.
