Job Description
The role of Senior C# Developer in our fuel card division is important to us.
Fuel cards are one of our flagship products, with a well established and high performing development team providing the technology that underpins the success of the division.
Reporting to the Technical Team Lead, you will help us build a range of software using various .NET technologies. You will create new systems, extend functionality of existing applications, and provide some occasional user support.
You will be able to write functioning code while keeping an eye out for defects, be interested in crafting solutions to business problems, and work well in a global team with other talented individuals.
You will be expected to be able to keep up with modern technologies, adapt new programming processes, and take part in team discussions, planning, architectural and code reviews.
The role is based from our head office environment in Crewe, Cheshire and is eligible for inclusion in our hybrid working policy (minimum 3 days per week in the office).

Your Responsibilities Will Include…
- Developing new features into a micro-services style code base
- Writing and documenting services to integrate to and consume external APIs
- Maintaining existing systems which are web, micro-services
- Writing and maintaining Nuget packages.
- Developing unit and integration tests
- Performing code reviews
- Troubleshooting and debugging systems
- Minimum of 4 years of commercial C# development experience
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Experience with .NET core Web APIs
- Working in an Agile, continuous delivery software development environment
- Good knowledge of relational, object and key-value databases
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline technology
- Comfortable using ORM technologies (Linq2DB, Entity Framework)
- Comfortable working with .NET core (.NET 5+)
- Comfortable working with Docker, Docker-Compose and Kubernetes
- Comfortable working with Azure, AWS and Google cloud services
- Comfortable working with Linux (advantageous)
- Desire to take ownership of work from design to implementation
- Understanding of socket programming (TCP/IP)
- Understanding of the principles of encryption
- Experience using Git
