The Role

The Senior Enterprise Sales Manager will be pivotal in defining and capitalising on the enterprise opportunities that exist within Wessex Internet’s network footprint. This role will focus on developing and delivering highly bespoke fibre solutions, including dark fibre and other high-capacity services, to a wide range of enterprise clients.

You will be an energetic and driven individual who will set the agenda and manage a small team dedicated to driving sales within the SME sector while also directly fostering strategic relationships with key partners and resellers.

Responsibilities

Enterprise Sales & Solution Development:

  • Lead a refresh of our standard range of enterprise packages as well as the development of bespoke fibre connectivity solutions, including dark fibre, and other advanced networking solutions, tailored to the needs of high-value enterprise clients.
  • Collaborate with our NOC Manager and other members of the technical team to design and propose and ensure the delivery of enterprise packages and customized solutions that meet the specific requirements of clients, such as low-latency connections, high-security demands, and scalable bandwidth options.
  • Oversee the full sales lifecycle for enterprise clients, from initial engagement through to contract negotiation and in-life service; ensuring that Wessex Internet delivers outstanding service in a rapidly evolving market.

Business Development & Strategy Execution

  • Drive the growth of the B2B customer base by identifying and pursuing new market opportunities, with a focus on enterprises that require complex and high-capacity networking solutions.
  • Work closely with our Network Planners and Regional Engagement and Delivery Teams to develop and maintain a robust pipeline of enterprise opportunities, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals and revenue targets.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, particularly in the dark fibre and high-capacity connectivity space, to position Wessex Internet as our regions leader in enterprise solutions.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Manage a small team of business development professionals, setting clear objectives and KPIs to guide a program of ambitious growth.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to the team, fostering a high-performance culture that prioritises technical expertise and customer satisfaction.
  • Encourage continuous learning within the team, particularly around new and emerging fibre technologies and their applications in enterprise environments.

Technical Sales Support & After-Sales Service:

  • Work closely with the technical and network operations teams to ensure that proposed solutions are feasible, cost-effective, and deliverable within client timelines.
  • Provide ongoing support to enterprise clients, ensuring that solutions are performing as expected and that any issues are resolved promptly.
  • Manage the transition from sales to implementation, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Market Research & Competitive Analysis:

  • Conduct in-depth research into the enterprise fibre market, including trends in dark fibre, and use these insights to refine sales strategies and identify new business opportunities.
  • Analyze competitor offerings and market positioning to ensure that Wessex Internet remains at the cutting edge of enterprise connectivity solutions.
  • Use insights from market research to inform the development of new products and services that meet the evolving needs of enterprise clients.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Prepare robust reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and market conditions, presenting these to the CCO and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Ensure that all sales activities are compliant with relevant industry regulations and that enterprise clients are onboarded in line with Wessex Internet’s stringent quality standards.
  • With support from our technical teams, maintain a deep understanding of regulatory requirements specific to high-capacity and dark fibre solutions, ensuring that Wessex Internet’s offerings are both compliant and competitive.

Requirements

Desired

  • Significant experience in an enterprise sales role within the telecommunications or fibre broadband industry, with a proven track record of delivering complex technical solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge of businesses in our geographic region with a track record of getting access to decisionmakers of companies of all sizes.

Required:

  • Strong technical acumen, with the ability to translate complex technical requirements into commercially viable solutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive and results-driven approach, with the ability to think strategically and execute effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of networking technologies and fibre infrastructure is essential, with specific experience in dark fibre being highly advantageous.

Salary: Basic salary up to DOE £45k. £60k OTE (uncapped commission, car allowance and paid milage)

Role Type: Full Time/ Permanent

Hours: 40 Hours Per week

Location: Office / onsite based near Blandford Forum, Dorset

Required licence or certification: Driving Licence

Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays
