Job Description

We are looking for an Senior Business Development Manager to join us. This role will cover the South East and South Wales region, establishing, developing and maintaining relationships with intermediaries to achieve our sales origination targets.

As part of your role as Senior Business Development Manager you will manage your own portfolio of intermediaries within a geographical area and communicate with them using varied methods i.e. face to face visits, telephone, e-mail, group presentations etc.

The job holder is expected to travel regularly in the course of their duties including regular visits to Head Office in Fleet, Hampshire.

Job Requirements

  • Proven ability to network and develop strong working relationships.
  • Proven ability to translate opportunities into commercial gains.
  • Working knowledge of lending practices and intermediary channels within the mortgage industry.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the mortgage industry and the legislation and regulations within which it operates.
  • External business awareness including an understanding of the UK Financial Services market.
  • Sales experience is essential and within the mortgage sector of the financial services industry would be an advantage.
  • CeMAP and preferably DipMAP qualified.
  • Hold a valid driving licence.

Job Responsibilities

  • Research, locate, define and target key account prospects.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with intermediaries to ensure sales origination targets are met and to maximize business opportunities.
  • Conduct seminars and workshops for intermediaries.
  • Management information analysed and used to direct activities to achieve sales origination targets and produce a monthly activity report.
  • Internal relationships developed and maintained in particular with our Underwriting, Credit and Marketing teams to resolve queries and issues.
  • Source and develop relationships with new introducers.
  • Must act in a compliant manner at all times in line with the FCA regulations.
  • Behaviour and conduct is consistent with Fleet Mortgage’s corporate image in order to maintain the company’s reputation and brand.
  • Industry and product knowledge updated and maintained to maximise business opportunities and ensure credibility with intermediaries.
  • Sales processes followed to maximise new business opportunities.
