We're looking for a Senior Bid Manager to join our North West team in a key role across the region. The role will cover the North West and can be aliged to our Salford or Speke Offices with flexibility to work on a hybrid basis between office, home and third party locations as required.
Location: Salford / Speke - North West Region. Flexibility for some home working

What will you be responsible for?
The Senior Bid Manager fulfils a key role in Kier Construction, working closely with the wider SMT and SLT they will have a great influence on successful tendering of construction projects within both public and private sector space.
The Senior Bid Manager will formulate and execute bidding strategy, the Senior Bid Manager will take a key role in the conversion of tenders to preferred bidder status as well as conversion of 2nd stage to live projects.

What will you be responsible for?
The Senior Bid Manager fulfils a key role in Kier Construction, working closely with the wider SMT and SLT they will have a great influence on successful tendering of construction projects within both public and private sector space.
The Senior Bid Manager will formulate and execute bidding strategy, the Senior Bid Manager will take a key role in the conversion of tenders to preferred bidder status as well as conversion of 2nd stage to live projects.
Your Day To Day Will Include
- Tracking pipeline of projects, undertaking research and analysis, working closely with the business development function to get early visibility in future opportunities that align with Kier Constructions business plan and capabilities.
- Assembly of bid teams, identifying key knowledge and expertise relevant to specific bids to ensure that client needs are reflected in the mix of subject matter experts aligned with bids.
- Arrange and chair Bid Meetings with relevant stakeholders ensuring accurate and effective communication across stakeholders to set strategy, timescales and input obligations, drive engagement and collaboration with subject matter experts to ensure timely receipt of relevant technical information pertaining to bids.
- Interrogate information received from internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment with the Bid strategy.
- Guide, review and edit bid writing output to ensure that returns are in line with the bid vision.
- Attend feedback sessions with the client and coordinate tender queries and amendments, present credibly to both internal and external stakeholders translating bids to client needs.
- Seek out opportunities to facilitate further learning about MMC methodology, industry and technological advancements to ensure Kier are at the vanguard of modern delivery.
This role of Senior Bid Manager is great for you if you :
- Hold a degree level or equivalent qualification a relevant discipline (Project Management, Construction Management, Design or Commercial)
- Can demonstrate experience of managing bid services within a tier 1 construction environment.
- Have strong construction knowledge gained in a Bidding, Technical or Commercial role within construction contracting.
- Expert understanding of the principles of framework procurement and experience within the most current forms of procurement.
- Working knowledge of best practice solutions and optimisation of innovative ideas.
- Have the ability to coordinate and manage a wide cross section of professionals across different departments to ensure effective collaboration.
