We are looking for an experienced Senior AWS Engineer to join the Infrastructure Team in our Technology Division. AWS Cloud Engineers play a critical role in providing our community with a performant, reliable IT platform and are called upon to design cloud solutions across the SJP AWS estate.

The successful candidate will possess a high degree of self-management, be proactive and positive with regard to delivering cloud solutions, take personal accountability, and have strong communication and technology acumen skills.

What you’ll be doing?
- Ensuring that AWS infrastructure is created, maintained, and is evolving across our cloud estate.
- Working with all members of Technology Operations including Infrastructure Engineers, Cyber Engineers, Network Engineers and other areas of the business to design cloud infrastructure for AWS applications.
- Providing SME cloud guidance and support to other members of the team, enabling their technical development and performing operational activities as required within the cloud estate.
- Acting as a consultant for the Technology Operations Division and solve complex cloud infrastructure problems and issues whilst providing recommendations for service improvements.
- Ensuring continuous learning and knowledge of AWS tools are kept up to date, ensuring improvement of services as the AWS platform evolves.
- Recommend and deliver cost savings and cost effective solutions and identifying areas for automation and delivering automated functions.

Essential Criteria
- Demonstrable and strong AWS practical experience running Windows and Linux workloads on AWS
- Experience of supporting Enterprise infrastructure including networks, firewalls, load balancing, and Active Directory
- Experience managing or working within hybrid-cloud enterprise level configurations and experience with security and backup applications and services in a regulated environment.
- Exposure to leveraging a successful balance between security, access control, and auditing capabilities in the cloud; AWS IAM, AWS Config, and AWS key management preferred
- Understanding of SecOps practices within AWS, leverage monitoring and event capabilities to trigger appropriate reactions desired
- AWS certifications including Solution Architect, SysOps Engineer or DevOps Engineer are desired
