SDUK's brands include the Nation’s favourite cheese brand Cathedral City plus other well-known butter & spreads (Clover, Country Life, Vitalite, Utterly Butterly), functional ingredients and dairy free products.

We are looking for a Senior Supplier Assurance Advisor to join our Group Technical team in a remote (home based) position. This role involves evaluating and selecting suppliers, conducting audits, managing risks, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier performance. This person will be responsible for ensuring that the business has an effective supplier assurance and monitoring system taking into account any potential risks from raw materials, including packaging, safety and authenticity of the product.

This is a remote role with regular European travel required to visit suppliers. The ideal candidate will be autonomous and able to work independently whilst also building and maintaining important cross-functional relationships.

YOU’LL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY…

• Developing and implementing Supplier Assurance System and procedures to safeguard the integrity of SDUK supply chain.
• Managing the supplier qualification and approval process, including risk assessments and documentation reviews.
• Conducting Supplier Audits and Assessment (BRC, Retailer Audit)
• Managing supplier relationships to foster collaboration and driving continuous improvement
• Collaborating internally with cross functional teams (procurement, production)
• Providing technical guidance and support to manufacturing sites and suppliers to resolves quality issues and enhance overall performance.
• Preparing and presenting reports on supplier performance and quality assurance activities to senior management.
• Leading and participating in supplier development initiatives aimed at enhancing supply chain resilience.

YOU’RE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE…

• Educated to Degree level (or equivalent experience) in Food/Dairy Science, Technology or engineering/biological science.
• Trained to Level in HACCP and Food Hygiene/Safety.
• Qualified Lead Auditor/Assessor.
• Experience in working with internal and external customers and technical teams.
• Skilled at communicating at all levels both internally and externally.
• Experienced in food manufacturing and packing processes as well as dealing with complex technical issues in supply chain.
• Familiar with retailer standards and codes of practice and experience of retailer third party audits.
• IT literate and able to use statistical techniques.
• Self reliant, decisive and reliant.
