Role

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated and passionate SAMr to join our busy team. Working in one of Scotland’s most respected and awarded creative agencies, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing and implementing campaigns for a number of key client accounts, ranging from financial services and public sector to property developers and drinks.

The role is hybrid with an expectation to be in the office (Edinburgh city centre) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

You should be commercially minded and creatively literate, quick to understand a client’s business, their requirements and how we can add value. Your client facing skills are exceptional, with a proven ability to manage expectations, build long-term relationships and drive organic growth. You have experience in, and a passion for, multi-channel communication. You take pride in delivering work to a high standard and strive to exceed client expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the successful implementation of campaigns, on time, on brief and to budget.
  • With our Planning team, develop insightful creative briefs and communications strategies that will provide the Creative department with a springboard to deliver exceptional work.
  • Become an extension of the Client team, working tirelessly to build a comprehensive understanding of their sector, business objectives and communications goals, and the ways of working that will ensure we become a trusted partner.
  • Forward plan resource requirements to support the smooth running of the agency.
  • Successfully coordinate internal departments and suppliers in the delivery of projects.
  • Take financial ownership of the budgeting, forecasting, invoicing and tight management of project budgets.
  • Regularly identify and offer revenue-generating added value services beyond business as usual.
  • Nurture a self-starter culture within the account team so we’re not waiting for Client briefs but proactively seeking them out.
  • Inspire, motivate and nurture more junior talent by leading by example and helping them to upskill in critical areas.
  • Keep Story’s senior management team informed of the status of your accounts and know when to ask for help.

You will bring hands-on agency experience, having worked in a fast-paced marketing environment and delivered effective through-the-line campaigns across broadcast, display and social. You are forward thinking, thrive on innovation, act with positivity, take initiative and stay several steps ahead. Deadlines, budgets and details do not intimidate you, as you are highly organised, able to manage multiple projects, and confident in financial management and timekeeping. You are also a strong communicator: your written work is clear, your verbal interactions build trust, and you naturally form collaborative relationships with clients and colleagues. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Excel, is essential.
