A Bit About Story

Story is an integrated creative agency with over 200 effectiveness awards to our name. We apply our many and varied skills across a wide range of sectors, media and marketing challenges. From long-term brand building to short-term marketing activations, we build belief by creating ideas that connect and resonate. We are also a part of MISSION Group, a collective of Agencies dedicated to helping clients and employees thrive.

Role

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated and passionate SAMr to join our busy team. Working in one of Scotland’s most respected and awarded creative agencies, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing and implementing campaigns for a number of key client accounts, ranging from financial services and public sector to property developers and drinks.

The role is hybrid with an expectation to be in the office (Edinburgh city centre) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

A Bit About You

You’ll need to be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, working alongside talented and collaborative colleagues.

You should be commercially minded and creatively literate, quick to understand a client’s business, their requirements and how we can add value. Your client facing skills are exceptional, with a proven ability to manage expectations, build long-term relationships and drive organic growth. You have experience in, and a passion for, multi-channel communication. You take pride in delivering work to a high standard and strive to exceed client expectations.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to meet you.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the successful implementation of campaigns, on time, on brief and to budget.
  • With our Planning team, develop insightful creative briefs and communications strategies that will provide the Creative department with a springboard to deliver exceptional work.
  • Become an extension of the Client team, working tirelessly to build a comprehensive understanding of their sector, business objectives and communications goals, and the ways of working that will ensure we become a trusted partner.
  • Forward plan resource requirements to support the smooth running of the agency.
  • Successfully coordinate internal departments and suppliers in the delivery of projects.
  • Take financial ownership of the budgeting, forecasting, invoicing and tight management of project budgets.
  • Regularly identify and offer revenue-generating added value services beyond business as usual.
  • Nurture a self-starter culture within the account team so we’re not waiting for Client briefs but proactively seeking them out.
  • Inspire, motivate and nurture more junior talent by leading by example and helping them to upskill in critical areas.
  • Keep Story’s senior management team informed of the status of your accounts and know when to ask for help.

You will bring hands-on agency experience, having worked in a fast-paced marketing environment and delivered effective through-the-line campaigns across broadcast, display and social. You are forward thinking, thrive on innovation, act with positivity, take initiative and stay several steps ahead. Deadlines, budgets and details do not intimidate you, as you are highly organised, able to manage multiple projects, and confident in financial management and timekeeping. You are also a strong communicator: your written work is clear, your verbal interactions build trust, and you naturally form collaborative relationships with clients and colleagues. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Excel, is essential.

Benefits

What’s in it for you?

It’s a no-brainer, but our team are most successful when happy and fulfilled. Which is why we offer:

  • Hybrid working model - 3 days in the office, 2 days remote.
  • 31 days holiday per annum (including Bank Holidays) and your birthday day off.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Workplace pension with employer contributions (on successful completion of your 3-month probation period).
  • Access to our bespoke learning platform Mission Discovery.
  • Access to ThanksBen perks - benefit from discounts from major brands.
  • Wellbeing support including support from a Mental health first aider, in the agency or a call away.
