Key Responsibilities Of a SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Provide one-to-one support and assistance to students with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.
- Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement personalized learning strategies.
- Support students with activities of daily living, personal care, and mobility, as required.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation.
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting the needs of students with SEN.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A positive and proactive attitude towards overcoming challenges and adapting to the needs of individual students.
- Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are advantageous but not essential.
