As a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting students with special needs to ensure they achieve their potential. Role Overview
As a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting students with special needs to ensure they achieve their potential. Working closely with the SEN team, you’ll help create an inclusive and positive learning environment, offering assistance tailored to each student’s unique needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small group support for students with SEN to aid their learning and development.
- Assist in delivering engaging and effective lessons under the guidance of classroom teachers.
- Help create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages all students to participate.
- Support students in their social and emotional development, ensuring a safe and caring environment.
- Monitor and record student progress, offering constructive feedback to students and staff.
- Support with day-to-day classroom activities and help students during transitions and breaks.
- Recent graduate with a degree in any subject (experience in education or SEN support is a plus).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a caring and patient approach to working with students.
- A passion for education and a commitment to supporting students with SEN.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
