Job Title: SEMH Secondary Teaching Assistant

Location: Chesterfield

Salary Range: £86 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)

Start: Immediate

Contract: Long term, Full – Time

As an SEMH Secondary Teaching Assistant (TA), you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH needs, helping them navigate their educational journey with confidence and resilience.

Responsibilities Of The SEMH Secondary Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA)

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
• Assist in managing behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.
• Work alongside teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored support plans.
• Encourage students’ emotional well-being and self-regulation skills.
• Support both academic and personal development through structured activities.
• Engage in off-site learning opportunities, ensuring a holistic approach to education.
  
  

Requirements Of The SEMH Secondary Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA)

• Previous experience working with SEMH students in a secondary school setting.
• A calm, patient, and understanding approach to behaviour management.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with students.
• A full UK driving license—essential for off-site visits and school accessibility.
• Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
