Construction Testing Solutions Limited are seeking a new Team member for our Sample Reception at our growing chemical laboratory business based in Leicester City Centre. The Laboratory Sample Reception is the initial stage and plays a pivotal role in the success of the entire testing process.
The successful candidate will have a very high degree of attention to detail and excel working in a fast paced department.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Sample Logistics Manager, your daily work load will consist of registering soil, water and construction material samples into our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
Packing and shipping samples for subcontracted analysis to our network of internal and external partner laboratories.
Liaise with internal and external clients to support consumables delivery and sample collection requests.
Build strong commercial relationships with key suppliers and clients helping to ensure continuity in service delivery
Completing all quality requirements as per ISO17025 accreditation requirements and the CTS Quality Management System.
Disposing of tested samples into designated waste skips and washing of transport boxes
Performing other business related duties as required by the management team
Maintaining a safe working environment and complete Health, Safety and Environmental Tasks as required
Specific Requirements
At CTS we offer a career not just a job. In your first six months you will develop your basic skills as well as become fully proficient in a range of duties within the Sample Reception Department. On successfully passing your 6-month probationary period, you will automatically progress to Level 2.
Once at Level two, your skills and knowledge will grow further. Within around 12 - 18 months your next step is Level 3, to achieve this level you will be able to demonstrate the ability to work autonomously completing all required tasks correctly and on time.
Each progression step is matched with a pay rise ensuring that your personal development is kept step in step with your earnings. The speed at which you progress is ultimately down to you and how you apply yourself in the role.

Specific Requirements
- Prior experience using database software highly desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Excellent verbal and written English skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- GCSEs (C/5 and above) Maths & English
