What You’ll Do

At Avalara, we're on a mission to simplify the complexities of tax and cross-border transactions through our software solutions. We're seeking a dedicated Sales Executive to expand our footprint in the EMEA region. You will engage with prospects and use our partnerships in ecommerce, technology, logistics, and accounting to promote our products and services. Reporting to one of our Regional Sales Leaders, you will preferably work in a hybrid model, with the option for full remote work within mainland UK if necessary.

  • Execute campaigns and use networking opportunities and technologies for lead generation in ecommerce, retail, and software projects.
  • Strengthen existing partner relationships and scout for new strategic alliances within ecommerce, ERP, marketplace, logistics, and accounting sectors to foster integrations and build new business referrals.
  • Engage with prospects through sales calls, product presentations, webinars, and in-person meetings; host engaging demonstrations and partner webinars.
  • Respond promptly to customer needs, working with our support teams (solution consulting, professional services, legal, support, engineering, and product management) to enhance prospect experiences and expedite sales cycles.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities and make positive impacts in every sales interaction.
  • Consistently meet and exceed monthly sales goals by staying motivated, setting clear goals, and using efficient solution-finding techniques.
  • Harness the power of teamwork and capitalise on emerging opportunities or mitigate potential challenges, while maintaining an ethical stance in all activities.

What You'll Need to be Successful

  • Experience in a quota-carrying sales role, with a focus on new or existing business.
  • Background in B2B sales of managed services, SaaS software, or VAT-related services, with experience engaging with senior-level tax, finance, IT, or business owners.
  • Experience being held to and motivated by metrics.
  • Experience establishing communication and engagement with prospects.
  • Experience balancing multiple sales opportunities.
  • Curious and comfortable in a dynamic work setting.
  • A desire to advance a career in software and technology sales.
  • A wide network of customer and partner connections, beneficial for initiating business activities at Avalara, especially within ecommerce, marketplaces, logistics, ERP, accounting, or billing platforms.
  • Specialised knowledge of the retail, software, logistics, finance, accounting, or tax industries would be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience using a CRM software system.
  • A relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of related work experience.
