Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join a business area that is growing in interest and where no two days are the same. The Maritime Reserves (MR) is a Fighting Arm of the Royal Navy (RN), consisting of the Royal Naval Reserve (RNR) and the Royal Marines Reserve (RMR). The Commander Maritime Reserves (COMMARRES) commands the Royal Naval and Royal Marines Reserve, known collectively as the Maritime Reserves (MR). The purpose of the MR as outlined in the Command Plan is to provide enough, capable, and motivated personnel, at readiness, to reinforce Regular Forces. The MR generates and maintains capability at readiness in support of the Naval Service for 3500 geographically dispersed individuals. The MR consists of 20 units located across the UK, and 19 specialisations.
The position is advertised as 37 hours per week.
Job Description
Support Managers (SM) are pivotal to the efficient and effective operating of Maritime Reserve Units and its function to deliver trained Reservists as elements of Operational Capability at Readiness as required by Navy Command. Support Managers lead and manage whole force teams for a specified cluster of units, are owned by CMR and form part of the Operational Delivery Profession. The role of Support Manager is to provide a high quality digital administrative and financial service to support their Units Commanding Officer and Reservists. In addition, they support the Head of Establishment (site or Unit) by providing guidance and advise on Health and Safety Environmental Protection (HS&EP) matters.

The role of a Support Manager is critical to the effective running of the MR Units and specialisations. The role requires individuals to be confident and diplomatic in handling enquiries. In addition, they should be excellent communicators.
