Medivet Redbourn is seeking a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
You'll be working alongside a close-knit team of two Vets, two RVNs, one SVN, several PCAs, two Client Care Assistants, and of course, our beloved practice cat.
Our Redbourn clinic is fully equipped with digital x-ray, in-house laboratory facilities, a dedicated prep area, and a modern operating theatre. You’ll enjoy a varied and stimulating caseload in a supportive and friendly environment.
For advanced imaging, complex surgeries, and overnight care, we work closely with our 24-hour hospital in Watford to ensure every patient receives the highest standard of treatment.
This is a full-time role working 40 hours over 5 days plus weekends on a 1 in 6 rota, based at Medivet Watford.

In This Role You Will
- Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
- Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
- Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
- Deliver patient monitoring and care.
- Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
- Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
- Dispense and check medication.
- Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
- Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.
- RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
- Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
- Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
- Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
- Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
