Would you like to join a team of nurses who are supported by a multidisciplinary team ensuring patients receive bespoke care to meet their orthopaedic needs.

An opportunity for a Band 5 Registered Nurse to work in the Orthopaedic OPD at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary has become available. Working alongside our skilled and dedicated orthopaedic team the applicant will support the care of patients on both the Trauma and elective pathways. This post requires the applicant to work Monday -Friday only

We expect staff to work together as a team to achieve the best outcomes; you will be encouraged to work with your manager to identify any learning needs to develop your skills, knowledge and competence in this area of nursing. As a band 5 nurse you will be responsible for supporting patients journey from their first clinic encounter through to discharge from the orthopaedic team.

This role requires excellent communication, time management and an ability to problem solve.

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff).

We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
