Location: Lansbury Court Care Home - Parkhouse Avenue, Castletown, Sunderland, Tyne & Wear, SR5 3DF
Salary: £24.82 per hour
Schedule/Hours: 22 hours per week, days

As a Nurse in our Reconnect Community, you’ll play a vital role in supporting individuals whose primary care need is managing distress responses. You’ll lead a compassionate, evidence-based approach that focuses on understanding the causes of distress and reducing reliance on medication. Your goal is to help residents retain their identity, maintain their abilities, and live life with purpose.

A former mining community, Castletown is an area of Sunderland north of the River Wear and close to Hylton Castle. With good road access to Wessington Way, Lansbury Court care home is a single-storey modern home that has been purpose-built to provide specialist care tailored to both younger adults and older people living with dementia.

What You'll Be Doing
- Developing person-centred care plans and risk assessments
- Leading the care team in delivering meaningful, empathetic support
- Promoting independence, choice, and positive engagement
- Liaising with families, external professionals, and multidisciplinary teams
- Reducing reliance on psychotropic medication through non-pharmacological interventions
- Supporting best interest decisions in line with the Mental Capacity Act
- Conducting supervisions, appraisals, and coaching care staff
- Ensuring compliance with NMC standards and Orchard policies
We’re Seeking Someone Who Is
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Experience in dementia care and person-centred planning
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation and clinical governance
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- A warm, empathetic, and professional approach
- Ability to coach and develop colleagues
