Where will you be working?

We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?

As our Regional Manager you'll be a key leader. You'll be responsible for the comprehensive oversight of operational activities across the region. This pivotal role encompasses the strategic management of Reactive Metering, Lead, Private Leakage, and New Connections. While primarily focused on these areas, you'll also provide crucial support to the Progressive Metering Delivery Manager. A core responsibility is to uphold and champion M Group Water’s values, fostering a professional, accountable, and committed culture throughout the team.

  • Operational Oversight: Provide strategic and hands-on management of all operational activities within Reactive Metering, Lead, Private Leakage, and New Connections to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance.
  • Health and Safety: Be fully responsible for the health, safety, and well-being of all operational staff. Ensuring strict adherence to all company policies and legislative requirements.
  • Customer Experience: Drive a best-in-class customer experience, ensuring exceptional service delivery and prompt resolution of customer inquiries and issues.
  • Service Delivery: Maintain and enhance service standards and quality, optimising service delivery to meet and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Productivity & Profitability: Manage team productivity and performance, overseeing the profit and loss (P&L) for the regional operations to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Strategic Leadership: Work closely with the Progressive Metering Delivery Manager to offer support and ensure seamless collaboration across all metering services.
  • Culture & Values: Serve as a key ambassador for M Group Water's values, actively promoting a positive, professional, and committed work environment.

What You'll Bring

  • Do you have proven experience in a senior operational management role, ideally within the utilities or a related service-based industry?
  • Do you have demonstrable experience in managing profit and loss (P&L) with a strong commercial acumen?
  • Do you have a track record of leading and motivating large teams to achieve high levels of productivity and performance?
  • Have you gained extensive knowledge of health and safety regulations and a proactive approach to risk management?
  • Do you have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels?

The Regional Manager will report directly to the Head of Operations.
