Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Regional HSE Specialist for Real Estate and play a crucial role in enhancing our company's health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture. You will create, evaluate and administer operational health and safety programs for all workers at construction sites; inspect, monitor and evaluate the site HSE programs for value and effectiveness; analyze safety concerns and recommend solutions to the appropriate manager; and conduct investigations of site incidents, some of which may require litigation. This is an exciting opportunity to communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders and drive continuous improvement as a subject matter expert. How You'll Make An Impact
- Drive a culture of safety and sustainability: Prioritize HSE in all decision-making processes, employ risk management and strategic planning, ensure compliance with Hitachi Energy's standards and regulations, and promote Net-Zero targets.
- Foster an initiative-taking HSE culture: Collaborate with the HSE function, Real Estate Regional Leads, Country Real Estate Managers, and Project Managers to increase awareness, engage team members in HSE programs, and promote a learning culture.
- Ensure regulatory compliance: Align projects, from construction to facilities management, with Hitachi Energy's HSE Operating System, and country and local legislation.
- Develop and maintain HSE competency: Equip team members with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles safely and responsibly.
- Support supplier and contractor management: Collaborate with external parties to ensure they adhere to Hitachi Energy's HSE standards.
- Proven experience in HSE management within the construction industry.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of relevant HSE regulations and standards.
- Ability to foster a culture of safety and sustainability.
- Proven ability to develop and implement HSE programs and initiatives.
