Recovery Staff Nurse/Practitioner

Do you wish to work in a new facility where you will have the opportunity to enhance your specialist skills? If so, the Sussex Orthopaedic Treatment Centre is a purpose built elective orthopaedic centre, which opened in 2006 and is now part of the University Hospital Sussex Trust .We carry out approximately 6,500 procedures per year and undertake both minor, intermediate and complex orthopaedic work.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Band 5 to participate as one of our recovery team members. Experience in an acute setting is desirable , however in service training will be given.

We pride ourselves on having an MRSA free centre, excellent patient satisfaction results and ensure our clinical outcomes are closely monitored.

In brief the SOTC comprises of four operating theatres, a daycase facility and 36 inpatient beds including a 4 bedded Level 1 , together with a suite of consulting rooms.

We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK NMC registration. If you currently hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship we are not currently direct hiring Internationally Qualified Nurses.

The post holder will provide and assist with the development of safe and high quality pre-operative and post operative patient care and to work within the guidelines of the Trust Nursing and Midwifery Strategy.

The successful applicant will provide information and support to patients having anaesthesia / surgery.

The post holder will provide clinical support and teaching to all relevant personnel within the specialist area. They will also provide technical and clinical advise to relevant colleagues in the pre and post -operative setting.

The post holder will complete an orientation period to the clinical area in accordance with the Trust’s induction programme. You will also be supported in your ongoing professional development.

Posts in the Trust are subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for disclosure to be made of the Criminal Records Bureau to check for any previous criminal spent and unspent convictions, reprimands and cautions.
