Working in the commercial department you will play a key role in the commercial and contractual management of multiple projects, ensuring alignment with the division and company objectives.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing commercial and contractual administration, identifying opportunities to deliver best value to the customer, maximising profitability, and mitigating commercial risks. You will collaborate closely with the site management teams to ensure contract objectives and margins are achieved. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will report directly to you, meaning you will act as their line manager and be available to provide guidance and support as needed.

Job Type: permanent, full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours (start times to be discussed on interview)
Salary: Competitive, depending upon experience

About The Role
Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Southern Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to commercial and finance issues.
What is essential is the ability to work accurately to diagnose and deliver practical and efficient solutions to attain the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
About You
The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have the ability to organise, multitask and prioritise your workload. Good communication and interpersonal, relationship-building and networking skills are key. Studying towards (or just completed) a relevant industry qualification (e.g. HND, HNC, BEng) or Business Related Degree (i.e. Finance and Accountancy) is crucial to this role.

About The Role

- Preparation of interim and final accounts
- Manage day to day commercial and contract activities
- Sub-contract procurement ensuring maximum value for money
- Sub-contract valuations and final accounts
- Preparation of Compensation Events/variations
- Contractual correspondence
- Commercial reporting and cost forecasting
- Procurement of professional service for design etc
- Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibilities towards them
- Any other reasonable ad-hoc duties, tasks or projects as requested by the Senior Commercial Manager or Senior Leadership Team
