Purpose of the job (Accountabilities) include but are not limited to:

The Quality Lineside Technician is a direct role, responsible for working closely with the Production and Quality & Technical teams to conduct internal audits on the shop floor environment. This person will also sample check the conformance of the products coming from our main processes. In addition, this role is responsible for investigating and undertaking root cause analysis on any quality issues that are raised from the shop floor teams at Fine Tubes.

Typical Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Being the quality voice on the shopfloor and acting as the first point of contact for any requirements for support.
  • Conducting internal audits on our main processes as per the internal plan.
  • Sample checking the quality of the products from our main manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinating and leading all first level root cause analyses with a particular focus on implementing quick containment actions.
  • Supporting, coaching and inspiring people along the quality transformation journey based on the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) tools.
  • Supporting with documentation changes and communication with Operators to ensure compliance with our quality requirements.
  • Acting as an ambassador for Quality for Fine Tubes.

Qualifications And Functional Knowledge

  • Minimum of HNC level in a related subject.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of prior experience within a Quality related role.
  • Experience within the manufacturing industry would be highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and application of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) basic fundamentals would be a plus
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft office.
  • Motivation and Drive - proactive and self-motivated with excellent teamworking ability.
  • High levels of productivity and integrity.
  • Excellent team working ability and experience.
  • Demonstrate and align with the values of the company demonstrating honesty, integrity, customer service focus, quality focus, excellence, and innovation
  • Utilise problem-solving techniques needed to maintain the effectiveness of our management systems.

  • To be a good communicator at all levels of the business and in particular on a shopfloor environment

Other information

  • This role is a shift role working 6am – 2pm/ 2pm – 10pm (with a view that it could progress to a three shift rotation in the future working earlies, backs and night shifts).
