Our agricultural business includes the manufacture of combine harvesters, balers, grape harvesters, and of course, multi-purpose tractors with various engine powers. Tractors from our medium range (100-210 hp) are assembled at our headquarters for the New Holland brand in Basildon, England.
Basic function:
The Quality Engineering intern will be a problem solver for the Basildon Tractor Plant and ensure that quality standards are met whilst efficient production is maintained. They will respond to quality issues arising on a daily basis and will work on projects utilizing lean manufacturing tools and methods throughout.
Key responsibilities:
To understand and appreciate the significance of our products and our high quality standards
Capture, collect, analysis and report data on quality issue throughout manufacturing
To be knowledgeable on the processes and parts relevant to your assigned area
To identify and understand the quality losses and to initiate root cause problem solving activities
To build good working relationships with all departments and supporting functions within manufacturing and involve them in any problem solving activity which you initiate
To gain proficiency with the Plant Operating System and use it to manage your project portofolio
To liaise continuously with the relevant departments (Engineering, Purchasing etc.) to drive the progression of projects
Key Competencies:
Degree or equivalent, (or currently studying) in a relevant field of study; Engineering (Automotive, Electrical)
Excellent data analysis skills
Computer literacy to high standard as well as excellent communication skills
Product, market / customer knowledge experience is a benefit
Fluency in English (other languages are a plus)
- Must be a self-starter & able to work on own initiative
- Must be a team player and open to taking the lead in applicable cases
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Flexible working attitude
