About the Role

We are looking for a Quality Control Examiner / Presser to join our Silk Studio team in Congleton. You will inspect garments as they are completed during production, ensuring they meet our high-quality standards. The role also involves preparing garments for final packaging, including hand-pressing and finishing. You will be required to measure a sample of all production runs against specification sheets to ensure consistent product quality.


This role is full time, with working hours of:

  • Monday to Thursday, 8am – 5pm
  • Friday, 8am – 2pm


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect garments for quality during and after production
  • Prepare garments for packaging, including pressing, labelling, and folding
  • Use steam irons and vacuum pressers where required
  • Perform light finishing tasks such as attaching buttons, creating buttonholes, and fusing
  • Measure garments against production specifications to ensure consistency
  • Ensure each item meets brand standards for presentation and finish
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area
  • Communicate issues to the team and support continuous improvement


Candidate Requirements

  • Basic knowledge and skill in sewing, with a desire to grow and develop
  • Some experience with hand-pressing and/or working with silk is desirable
  • Attention to detail with a strong sense of product quality and standards
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within production deadlines
  • A positive attitude and team-player mentality
  • Proactive, with a good eye for detail and pride in delivering quality craftsmanship
