About Us

Bexley is a great place in which to live, work or study. It has the best of both worlds - close to the centre of London but still a green, safe, and friendly place to be. And our mission is to make Bexley even better by tackling health inequalities, supporting residents to live the best lives possible and to reach their potential.

To help us achieve our ambitions we are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, team player to join our developing public health team.

About The Role

You will assist in the development, implementation and coordination of the smoking cessation programme and any additional health programmes linked to identified local health priorities. You will support the development of key strategies and plans and ensure that commissioned programmes improve resident outcomes and help tackle health inequalities.

Collaborative working is integral to delivering for our residents and you will aid and influence delivery across a range of stakeholders including across the local authority, the voluntary and community sector, within the new NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB) structure (at regional, ‘place’, and neighbourhood levels), and other relevant partners, such as housing associations and businesses.

If you are passionate about making a difference and developing a career in public health, then we would like to hear from you.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Mobola Jaiyesimi, Telephone: 0203 045 5017, [email protected].

For the full list of essential and desirable criteria for this role then please refer to the Person Specification within the Job Description attached.

We will offer you in return a package that includes a competitive salary, an excellent pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays. For more information on the benefits package on offer please refer to the Candidate Information document attached.

  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to work in partnership across boundaries to influence senior managers and other key stakeholders.
  • Your adaptability and superb organisational skills will enable you to manage competing priorities, and you will remain flexible and adaptable working within the team.
