  • Responsibility for, and line management of a small number of the Pub Finance team who support and review the end to end expenditure of Pubs, including expenses submitted/claimed through Concur Request and Concur Expense
  • Support the Pub Finance Manager and Pub Finance & Expenses Team Leader in reconciliation of revenue, banking’s, and expenditure claims, ensuring General Manager compliance with VAT regulations and relevant policies and procedures
  • Working alongside the Pub Finance & Expenses Team Leader and Pub Finance manager to ensure a first-rate customer service to our General Managers, suppliers and internal stakeholders, e.g. audit.
  • Liaise with R2R teams to ensure that Pub Finance outputs are in line with expectation, supporting high integrity balance sheet reconciliations
  • Be one of the main business contacts for, and maintain strong relationships with, third party suppliers, e.g. SAP Concur, and taking a lead on technical change/assistance with IT.
  • Ensuring users of key systems have access to quality training and support material, including policy changes and support the team in providing insightful reports to the business, for example trend analysis of Concur spend.
  • Work alongside our Tax team to ensure compliance with relevant HMRC VAT and PAYE legislation, systematically identifying and mitigating high risk areas
  • Continually look to improve Pub Finance processes, working alongside the wider business to support business changes and projects.

As a 12 month FTC Pub Finance and Expenses Team Leader you will have the flexibility to work from home up to 50% of your working week and will work within a great team in our Finance Centre of Excellence. In your role, you will support the Pub Finance team with reconciliations of revenue and banking across our managed pub estate circa of 1650 pubs. You will also manage all administrative tasks supporting our expenses system Concur.

You will be line managing a small number of Pub Finance Assistants, and report to the Pub Finance Manager, living and breathing Greene King’s values and behaviours.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years working in a finance team, preferably in a senior administration / team leader role
  • Confident line manager (some line management experience preferred)
  • The ability to use Excel to an advanced level
  • Proactive approach to identifying solutions to problems
  • Ability to present/explain financial information in a way that the intended recipient can understand
  • Understanding & working knowledge of an integrated accounting package.
  • Strong customer service ethos
  • Knowledge of the retail and hospitality industry, and experience working in a large company, is an advantage
