Avon and Somerset Police
Date: 6 days ago
City: Portishead
Contract type: Full time
Job Description
Project Manager - £50,398 to £53,974 (candidates to start at the lower end of this banding)
Avon and Somerset Police has one permanent vacancy for a Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) Project Manager, working within our IT directorate. You will work as part of a team working on a change portfolio of over 120 projects, delivering solutions to colleagues within the organisation and to the public we serve.
We are looking for people with experience of project or programme delivery in an IT setting. If you are a dynamic and proactive individual, who feels you could share our drive to ensure our digital change portfolio delivers results for the organisation and the communities we serve - then this role is for you.
About Us
You will be joining an IT directorate of over 140 staff. You will be part of the Digital and Projects department - a friendly and welcoming group of professionals who exist to innovate and improve the digital experiences of colleagues within Avon and Somerset, as well as the public that we serve.
You will work within a project and programme delivery team of up to 20 people, including project managers, delivery managers and a portfolio office function. The team delivers a diverse range of projects that range from ensuring our technical infrastructure is fit for purpose, through to digital, user-centric projects that have a direct impact on the capacity and capability of frontline policing colleagues and the service they provide.
Our IT Directorate is based at the beautiful Police and Fire Headquarters in Portishead, with free parking and range of on-site facilities. We work very flexibly however, and the role can largely be performed from home (some travel within the force area may be required to meet with colleagues when needed).
This is a complex and fascinating organisation, where no two days are the same – so if that sounds like the sort of environment you can thrive, then we’d love to hear from you!
Some of the Key Responsibilities (see role profile for full details):
Please note that A&S have recently received confirmation that a 4.75% pay increase for police staff roles has been agreed for 2024/25. From the 1st September 2024 all our pay points for A&S employees will increase by this amount. The salary currently shown on this job advert does not include this increase. As soon as the revised pay scales are available our adverts will be updated.
In addition to the shortlisting criteria question, we also require a copy of your current CV. If you are are unable to attach your CV to your application, please email [email protected]
During the short-listing process, your CV will be anonymized by the Talent Team prior to the Hiring Manager review. CV's will be held in a Talent pool in line with retention rules.
To be eligible to apply for this role you must have a 5 year ‘checkable history’ in the UK – ideally this means that you would have been resident in the UK for the last 5 years. The Project Manager role in the Information Technology Directorate requires MV level of vetting.
