Our R&D department plays a crucial role in advancing our products and services, ensuring they meet customer needs and market demands. We are looking for a dedicated Project Manager to join our team to help us manage our growing portfolio of projects and lead them to success.

The Project Manager will manage and oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope and budget. Reporting into the PMO this role will work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, Professional Services, and Regional teams to manage and deliver client funded projects across a product portfolio that are aligned to our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Take ownership of individual projects from inception to completion. Define project scope, goals and deliverables. Create project plans including milestones, timelines and budgets. Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure project deliverables are met within agreed timelines and budget tolerances.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Manage project teams, coordinate tasks and resources to ensure project success. Drive team collaboration and performance.
  • Decision Making: Make decisions that impact projects you manage. Resolve project issues promptly to ensure project goals are met.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project goals are met. Co-ordinate sprint planning, retrospectives and early views.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting: Provide regular visibility on project progress, risks, delays, and achievements through proper processes and governance frameworks. Effective stakeholder communication expectation management.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Maintain strong working relationships with customers and manage customer expectations. Run regular progress meetings to ensure customers are kept up to date and informed of any progress or risks associated with their required delivery. Act as a point of escalation and arbitration for customer related project issues.
  • Risk Management & Mitigation: Identify and mitigate risks for projects you manage to ensure project success. Ensure risks are documented within the PMO project management framework.
  • Financial Management: Obtain sufficient order cover for any client funded projects. Ensure commercial deals have gone through governance with client sign-off and R&D approval in place. Monitor actual spending against the project budget, ensuring resources are used efficiently. Work with the PMO Project Coordinator on revenue forecasts, revenue recognition and billing processes.
  • Metrics & Reporting: Track and report on KPIs related to project success. Provide insights into customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and overall project success.

Skills, Knowledge And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science or a related field
  • PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in project management in software development industry
  • Track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget
  • Understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
  • Client project or core product roadmap delivery experience
  • Experience of revenue forecasting and tracking
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Use of risk management to identify, categorise and manage risks
  • Use of engineering and project management tools (e.g., Jira, DevOps, Smartsheets, Service Now)
