An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to support the Clinical Directorate for 9 months to cover a period of maternity leave. The successful individual will be required to support the transformation of the Trust to a clinically led organisation, by being integral to the delivery of key clinical projects. The role of the post holder will be to provide professional project management expertise to deliver major change in accordance with standard industry methodologies.

The post holder’s role is to deliver projects according to required standards, strict deadlines and within budget. This includes specifying funding, procuring, and assigning resources, managing the project budget, managing, and coordinating the efforts of those involved in the project deliverables including Trust staff, third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver all projects according to plan, using specialist project methodologies recommended for use in the public sector.

The post holder has the authority to run projects (e.g national immunization project) on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Clinical Directorate within defined constraints. The post holder’s prime responsibility is to ensure that projects produce the required products within the specified tolerances of time, cost, quality, scope, risk and benefits. The post holder is also responsible for projects producing a result capable of achieving the benefits as defined in the Business Case.

This post is a fixed term contract/ secondment for 9 months to the needs of the service.

  • Help define the project objectives and desired benefits and will oversee quality control / performance throughout its life cycle.
  • Matrix manage project staff, at all levels throughout the organisation, and co-ordinate and arrange training for the Project Team as required.
  • Be required to continually develop project management methodologies.
  • To lead, manage and ensure the successful delivery of individual local, national, and business as usual projects or multiple projects of significant size, complexity and risk; ensuring that projects produce the required products or outcomes, to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost. The post holder has the authority to run projects on a day to day basis, within defined constraints.
  • Support the organisation in the funding and procurement of all internal and external resources necessary to deliver the project.
  • Monitor project budgets during the life of the project and ensure alignment with approved expenditure or authorised business case.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply

In line with the Trust’s Starting Salary Procedure, all applicants will start at the bottom of the band for the position applied for, but can apply for a higher salary if they have previous experience relevant to the position.
