This interim role focuses on clearing a significant backlog of capital Work-in-Progress (WIP) by analyzing large datasets, reconciling invoices, and posting accurate entries in the finance system to meet audit deadlines. The position requires a part-qualified accountant with strong analytical skills to work across two portfolios, ensuring compliance and timely completion of capital asset processing.

Description

The Project Accountant will;

  • Investigate and reconcile invoices, ensuring accurate allocation to capital assets.
  • Prepare and post journals in F&O system (Microsoft Dynamics Finance & Operations).
  • Interrogate data in real estate management systems to validate addresses and asset details.
  • Target: Clear approx. £8,000 of spend per week to meet audit deadlines.
  • Collaborate with Capital Accountant and Finance Business Partner for guidance and approvals.
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy in all entries for audit readiness.

Profile

A Successful Project Accountant Should Have

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA or similar) with strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
  • Experience with capital accounting, WIP clearance, and fixed asset processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable with ERP systems.
  • Ability to interrogate large datasets and resolve discrepancies.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Previous exposure to real estate or property systems beneficial but not essential.
