Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead the development of the CYP Gender Service in the South East for a 12 month secondment period.

We are seeking someone with a proven track record of designing, developing and implementing new services, and with a sound understanding of the national priorities for gender services in England.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

The purpose of the role is to:

  • provide programme leadership and expertise to an important, high profile, and complex programme, working closely with UHS services and local and regional partners
  • provide strategic and senior operational support to the ongoing development of the new service, ensuring the delivery is consistent with the Cass Review Final Report and NHS England Implementation Plan and other regional centres.
  • The role will be required to provide assurance internally and externally on the ongoing development of the new service, via regional and national governance forum.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a sound understanding of the national priorities for gender services for children and young people in England. The post holder will have a track record of establishing and/or running new services, supporting service to develop and continually improve their performance. They will have experience of managing complex, multi-disciplinary and ideally politically contentious programmes. The successful individual will be proactive, and solution orientated, with the ability to influence and collaborate with a wide range of people.

Qualifications, Knowledge And Experience

Essential criteria

  • Evidence of post-qualification study/professional development to masters level (post grad certificate/MBA/MSc) or equivalent general management experience
  • Leadership qualifications or experience
  • Evidence of presenting complex information to internal and external groups
  • Evidence of successful leadership, management and engagement of cross disciplinary teams to facilitate collaborative working.
  • Experience of leading change through empowering people and holding them to account.
  • Project or Programme management qualification
  • Extensive leadership and operational management experience in a medium/large complex acute healthcare provider setting
  • Knowledge of Information Governance, SOPs and other governance, national and professional standards of practice or other regulations.
  • Significant experience of business planning processes and financial protocols.
