Salary: £27,008 - £31,000 per year
Contract type: Full time

Are you looking to develop your technical/production career?

Want to work for a company named in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work?

Behind Every Great Show, There's You

As Production Assistant, you'll support (and occasionally step in for) the Production Manager to ensure smooth technical operations during load-ins, shows, and load-outs. You'll help advance shows, manage technical logistics, and maintain a safe, clean, and functional backstage environment.

You'll be a key point of contact for production queries, act fast to maintain safety standards, and work closely with promoters, crews, and the wider venue team to deliver top-tier events.

What You'll Do

  • Help advance all production elements — from audio, lighting, seating/flooring setups to camera positions — and ensure plans are executed on the day.
  • Prep the stage, yard, and auditorium for shows as per the advance.
  • Maintain and update technical spec sheets, and ensure all show info is collected, shared, and filed.
  • Book crew and order equipment as needed; raise POs and process invoices.
  • Lead or support show stop briefings, ensuring all necessary parties are present.
  • Be a go-to contact for promoters and clients, helping them navigate venue specs and logistics.
  • Oversee maintenance and safety checks on technical gear and venue kit, including barriers and screens.
  • Complete Health & Safety checklists and ensure the venue is ready for public entry.
  • Liaise with production teams, tour reps, and promoters to keep everything running to time and in line with our license and safety rules.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in a production or technical role within a venue or theatre.
  • Confidence in advancing shows and understanding production requirements (audio, lighting, staging, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety standards in a live event setting.
  • Strong admin and IT skills, with attention to detail and great communication.
