The Product Manager – AXISS will provide the pivotal link between the marketplace and the business and all aspects of the product strategy for the AXISS products and derivative services. A key responsibility will be to fulfill the role of industry advocate where the Product Manager will develop strong relationships with key industry representatives within the customer base but additionally, external organizations that may influence the growth of the product and enable it to gain industry adoption.

As the Product Manager within Baker Hughes, you will be responsible for the product line life-cycle management and will effectively work across all the functions to ensure that we have an effective Multi-Generation Product Plan (MGPP) that delivers Product line revenue growth and improved profitability.

As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for:


  • Ensuring a thorough understanding of the global market for AXISS, including but not limited to market size, pricing, technical trends, and competitor capabilities.
  • Fulfilling the role of industry advocate for the product ensuring awareness, market adoption and growth.
  • Taking full accountability for product strategy to enable Baker Hughes to profitably increase its share of the market for the specific product.
  • Owning the Multi-generation product plan and developing the business cases for the long and short-range investment plans.
  • Product Line responsibilities (including scope, requirements and deliverables) as defined in the Product Development Process (PDM) for engineering, technology and product development programs.
  • Ensuring operational readiness of any new product or engineering developments delivered.
  • Working cross-functionally to ensure rigorous productization is in place and evolving in both the commercial and operational areas of service delivery chain to delivering efficient and high-quality product service performance effective product control.
  • Managing the portfolio of existing equipment and services to optimize their revenue and profit-generating capability.
  • Supporting promotional strategies to launch new products and to optimize returns from existing products
  • Supporting sales and commercial operations team on major tenders and long-term services agreements and providing ad-hoc commercial and technical guidance as needed.
  • Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships in key global accounts
  • Ensuring full awareness of, and compliance with, the requirements of all relevant company/ customer HSE handbooks, HSE procedures and emergency procedures.
  • Promoting BHGE compliance & ethics policies throughout the workplace and in all business activities


Performance Measures:


  • Growth of Product Line volume as measured in Orders.
  • Product Line profitability as measured in Contribution Margin
  • Product quality and customer satisfaction are measured externally by our NPS score and internal business KPIs.
  • Engineering programs measured by completion and implementation to plan


Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will require:


  • Educating to graduate level in a technical/engineering discipline
  • Have a minimum 5 years of relevant engineering, commercial, operations and or product line experience gained in a customer service environment.
  • Have an understanding of the market for, and techniques of, in-line inspection and /or pipeline integrity management preferred.
  • Have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Have a proven ability to develop and implement commercial and technical strategies
