Contract type: Full time
We are looking for an individual with an entrepreneurial mindset who has proven ideation, research and launch experience of ground-breaking or disruptive SaaS products.

Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, the Product Director will play a key role in bringing together our portfolio of financial adviser technology products and creating a coherent proposition and dynamic product strategy. You'll join another Product Director who is responsible for our provider technology products.

You will need to have owned the product P&L and also to have been involved longer term in ongoing product iterations so you can demonstrate product longevity and sustainability and also have a sound understanding of the product and it's journey to market (successes, challenges, failures, learnings etc).

Right to Work

We are unable to provide skilled worker sponsorship for this role so you will need to be able to work long-term without the need for sponsorship.

Impartial. Respected. Trusted.

Defaqto brings data, technology and consumers together to help everyone make smarter financial decisions today and tomorrow. The business has been successful and Defaqto is a key engine for organic growth within the Fintel Group.

To this end, we are inviting experienced SaaS product management professionals to apply for an exciting new opportunity within our Programme and Product Management team.

  • The purpose of the role:

As Product Director, you will own the product strategy, planning, investment, delivery and ongoing performance for a portfolio of Defaqto’s financial adviser SaaS products. Once you've got to grips with the product range, you're initial primary focus will be to deliver a coherent portfolio proposition for the market.

You will have responsibility for maximising the overall performance of the products in terms of numbers of financial decisions influenced and revenue / product profitability, as well as identifying opportunities to extend or enhance the product range and bring new products to market.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Ownership of the product and portfolio vision and strategy including roadmap prioritisation
  • Delivery of market and customer intelligence
  • Driving customer centricity and user experience
  • Product profit and loss, product investment case
  • End-to-end product performance measurement and improvement

What you need to succeed:

Experience as a Head of Product, Product Director or Senior Product Manager in a small to medium-sized firm is essential.

  • Demonstrable success in the development and growth of an outstanding SaaS product.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of tech products.
  • Proven success in the delivery of high-quality digital user experiences that have delighted end-users and performed ahead of the competition.
  • Appreciation and understanding of high-quality user-centric product design. Detailed knowledge of the marketing, sale, expansion, operation, and support of digital products.
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set - we'll be looking out for examples of this on your CV and during the selection process.
  • Experience owning the P&L for a SaaS product and for creating financial forecasts and investment cases to govern the allocation of resources within the business.
  • Relationship building, networking and influencing – your key stakeholders will include the ExCo.

While you will have a small team working closely with you (BAs, UX, software dev, scrum master and a pm) and your emphasis will be at the strategic level, you will also need to be the sort of person to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in, which is why it is essential you have experience in a small to medium-sized business.

There are no line management responsibilities but this may change over time.

Location

This is a hybrid role requiring face-to-face collaboration with the Dev team and other key stakeholders. We are in a period of transformation and evolution at Defaqto so you will need to be comfortable working from the office regularly.

Our Defaqto HQ is in Haddenham but we also have offices in London so you can be based in either location. The development teams are split between Haddenham and London so we'll need you to be in one of the offices at least a couple of times each week.

Right to Work

We are currently unable provide sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Visa so you will need to hold the right to work in the UK without sponsorship.

We aspire to have a diverse workforce because, in our view, diversity enables better business outcomes.
